Return STD P200 video:
Here's a little clip of a very nice morning session with the [Return] std by Ulzburger Kites at Formerum aan Zee. This open source trickkite by Birger and Philip Garbe flew very well in the light offshore breeze. Always amazed by the low wind capabilities of the [Return]. My kite was built by Birger and is framed in 5PT LS and P200 LE. Enjoy!
Info and plans are available here:
Ulzburger Kites website:
The upper spread should be ok. I have measured 113cm. Actually I noticed that the upper spreader is exactly 495mm but seems a little to long for me. So maybe you are right. Will check next time with Michi_austria snd his escape.
Or maybe the patch on the spine is to low.
The positions of the TAPA for the US on the LE is very tricky. A few mm difference means a lot on the diagonal. If the US length is correct it might be that.
I fly mine with 35-40 meter 25-40 kg.
Is the upper spreader position correct? It looks a bit too high on the kite.

100Fifty XXL Sportkite video:
The 100Fifty with it's 336 cm span is the largest version in the 90Three family of Open Source Trickkites. Krijn Hemminga built this kite and he did a super job scaling up the plans. Wider LE tunnels, a beavier "necktie" at the tail and big fat 10mm APA connectors to fit the 10mm pultruded carbon frame (LS are thick wall tubes). The kite is slow in flight but fully trickable. Lars Fakkeldij and me flew it at the enormous Formerum aan Zee beach, Terschelling in a nice evening breeze. If there's enough interest from DIY kite builders we might consider to add the plans to the kareloh.com website. Enjoy the video!

Return Mini video:
Episode 34 of Open Source Trick Kites features the [Return] Mini by Ulzburger Kites: a 86% version of Ulzburger second trick kite design. This particular kite was built by Krijn with a super ultralight frame: mostly Skyshark 2PT. The sail incorporates Icarex Technic for the one piece centre panel. The [Return] Mini is fun and agile kite with heaps of drive. Very suitable for urban flying in tight spots on shorter lines. Flown at Zevenhuizerplas, Nesselande in a nice morning breeze. Go build one, you won't be disappointed!

New 100Sixteen video:
This video features Lars Fakkeldij flying his 100Sixteen SUL kite. This is the 116% version of the 90Three Open Source Trick Kite which makes it a full size 260cm wingspan kite. Similar compared to the 90Three but much slower in tricks. It has great tracking and speed control and it performs very well in lower wind speeds, probably due to it's size. Flown at De Zandmotor beach near Kijkduin, Holland. Enjoy!

The Wap Doo Wap is one of my favorite tricks! In my opinion one of the most beautiful tricks together with 540s and Taz. Thanks for this entertaining short video Carlo. 🤙🏼
Thanks! Been doing Waps more lately. Certainly a very nice trick to combine in freestyle but the deep backflip kites won’t do them as nicely compared to the older kites from the mid 2000’s.
The Cesium is a mid sized freestyle kite by french manufacturer l'Atelier Kites that was released in 2005. Frame is Skyshark P200 for the LS and 6 mm pultruded carbon for US, LE and Spine with Icarex sail. A nylon "Access" version and the ultralight "Continental" were also available. The conditions at Meijendel beach were perfect for fades and pitch tricks like Wap Doo Waps. Thanks Ronald van Zijl for providing the kite to try and enjoy!

Some nice ones again! Added the pics to builds page:
The 6th round of 'PILOT' feature Ronald, Fred, André, and Lars who all perform the Wap Doo Wap trick at the Burgh Haamstede beach. See description and how to vote below:
Wap Doo Wap
The WAP DOO WAP is initiated from a FADE. The kite is then flared 360° on the pitch axis so that the belly is up again and the nose points towards the pilot but the lines are now over the trailing edge and underneath the kite. The kite is spun either 360° or 540°. The kite should exit the trick vertically – nose down for a 360° rotation (vertical descent, no FADE), nose-up for a 540° rotation (vertically upwards).
Wind: Light to Moderate

Here's a recap of the 2022 Midsummer Bootcamp in Burgh Haamstede, Zeeland. Great wind, nice weather and good friends make for yet another epic edition. Footage and edit by Lars Fakkeldij.
This Le Quartz from the belgian designer Christian Derefat was built in 2009 using the step-by-step building guide from Tom (see link below). Still a very capable trick kite and a lot of fun to fly.
This kite is framed in 5pt LS and 6mm LE, US, spine. I've added rollbars back in the day which suit the kite quite well since it's so pitchy. Flown on a beautiful morning at Meijendel beach with some company of "The Law". Enjoy!

Brought the Assassin UL by MugenKites on a bikeride to the Katwijk Skatepark. Mopped the wet miniramp and had to wait an hour to skate it. Plenty of time to take advantage of the nice seabreeze on a nice low tide sandbar in the Oude Rijn estuary. Feet in the water: bliss.
Take a look at the MugenKites website for some awesome kites:
