My Sharp UL:
This particular kite is framed with p100 LE’s, 3pt BD LS, Gforce SUL spine and 5 mm pultruded US. The 2 grey panels near the nose/LE are nylon for more billow effect. Very nice color combi in Light Grey, White and (i think) Mango. The Sharp has a deeper backflip compared to the Sin. Cyniques are there and it does great 2 pop roll-ups. Backspins are nice and flat and Taz’z are very nice also.
Just finished a new Essence STD to replace my old White/Slate version.
The sky-blue panels are double layered for more 'color pop'. Flew it for the first time today, but need to try in more wind.
Episode 5 of OSTK features the Essence trickkite and consists of two parts. This is the second part featuring the STD version. The sail is getting really old and is full of holes and tape. Still flies great but in desperate need of a replacement sail. Watch in HD!

New Kite On The Blok by Fred Blok now available as an open source plan for everybody to build and enjoy. Fred designed this kite a few years ago and flew the proto's intensively. Very flatspin and taz-happy kite. Full description after the JUMP.

Flew it yesterday for first time. Wind was variable from almost nothing to 3 bft. Frame holds very well in higher windspeeds but then you need catlike reflexes to trick it.
When there's less wind it becomes a lot of fun. Axels, slots, backspin(cascade)s, multilazies, rolling cascades, cometes, taz's are all within reach. The plan doesn't include any yoyo stoppers but i think i will put them on. 2 pop yoyo's are very do-able. Also going to to add a leechline. The TE on my kite is a bit loose.

Second episode of Open Source Trickkites: the P3. Flown at the enormous beach of De Zandmotor near Kijkduin. Pim Kusters and Pierre Terbogt did the initial design (P2). Peter PAW Maternus tweaked and tuned it and we decided to call it P3.

Upper Spreader: 4,5 mm pultruded carbon
Lower Spreaders: 3pt
Upper Leading Edge: p90
Lower Leading Edge: p100 (full length)
Outer Standoffs: 3mm carbon rod
Inner Standoffs: 3mm reinforced glassfiber rod
Weight in tail: +/- 13 grams
First flight in a smooth breeze was very promising. Precise, slow, gracious in tricks.
Taz's are ultra slow, Multilazies very flat and almost around the center cross. Recovers from backflip position quitte easily. 1 pop yoyo's are not there but 2 pops are great.
