Last week i picked up a brand new Prism Fanatic kite at Ron Berkhout's place. I really love the colors on this one. Very 90's Prism in my opinion. Such a cool little kite. Basically a smaller, radical Illusion. Looking at the Prism badges and branding my guess is this kite is from one of the last production runs of the Fanatic (early 2000's). This episode of BTTOS was filmed during my first session with this kite at De Zandmotor. Enjoy!

Lars Fakkeldij brought his freshly built 90Nine Super Ultralight in Caribbean Blue to "De Zandmotor" in a very nice midsummer sea breeze. This version is framed with 3pt LS, p90/p100 LE and p100 Spine. Flying and edit by Lars. Enjoy!

The Fifteen's have a frame setup with heavier rods in the lower leading edges and very light upper leading edges. Back then they were advertising about the setup without added tail weight.

Yes, compared to most modern kites it's not big. But still more than with the kites mentioned earlier.

Grisha, are you refering to the normal NSE LW or the Fifteen version? The balance is quite different because of the frame setup.

The Fifteen has a deadspot in the pancake/flare. You have to stop the flare before the nose goes nose-high. This is not very easy and takes practice. A lot of the modern radical trick orientated kites have this. It has one big advantage: the nose high flare/pancake makes TazMachines easier.

The Zebra however doesn't have this and that's why it's easier to execute flicflacs on that kite. Taz-Machines are a bit harder...

OSTK Episode 28: Magnet Micro-Pack Strong | IckyTV

Open Source Trickkites episode 28 features the Magnet Micro-Pack Strong. The Micro-Pack is a travel kite with 3 piece Leading Edges and Lower Spreader and a 2 piece spine which results in a package less than 50 cm long. This particular kite has a heavier frame compared to the STD version: p200/p300 Leading Edge, P300 Lower Spreaders and Spine, 6 mm pultruded carbon Upper Spreader. The windrange is quite wide. Flown at De Zandmotor in about 25 km/h winds. There a little assembly section at the end of the video. Enjoy!

Last year i found one of my grails: the Flexifoil Stranger Ultralight. This is the Icarex version with Skyshark Competition Airframe 3P/5P rods. On top of that it was my favorite color version. There was a bit of taped damage in the sail but the price was very good so i copped it right away. Here's another little video for the BTTOS series of a after dinner session at Meijendel beach. Wind was barely noticeable but with enough pressure to keep the kite going. Enjoy!
