I think it's to keep it as simple as possible, with the LS in one piece and the rope upper spreader assembly and disassembly are very quick, and no risk to lose the upper spreader.

I have framed my Escape SUL with some Skinny UL that I have at home, full Skinny UL except the spine 2PT and upper spreader 4mm carbon.
I will test next week in Cervia. the goal is to extend the lower wind range.
The bridle is from Enrico.

any idea why my Badass SUL nose is like this?
Maybe the lower spreader is not perfectly centered, or the upper cable wich replaces the rod is too tight !?!!

I have just received 2 new Escape, here the UL, the SUL today does not come out from the bag, next time I'll take a pic.

I remember that many years ago, when I started to fly dual line kites, most vented sail where in spinnaker (maybe chikara?) and not Icarex, because is an heavier material and less impermeable to air, so more suitable for strong winds.

So I wonder why it is no longer used: did not give any real advantages? Or It is more convenient (for manufactures) to use the same material for all kites ?

Would be interesting to build a "strong" kite with chikara sail?
