This is a "replica" of Synergy Zero Wind Great Deca kite. Over the net I found only the spar lengths and the wingspan, so I decided to use plastic bags for the first "build", so I can figure out the whole sail geometry and bridle dimensions. Two weird connectors were needed but luckily I wasn't searching long and finally made them out of a bobbin spool :).

It's gold. I've got the Flying Wings Laima Kite, a single line glider. I use it once a year, it's just not my style. But the kite sleeve has got amazing shiny gold color. I thought Icarex would look the same. Now I've got 6meters left of it :).

That was supposed to be gold Icarex, but it's more likely apricot, or something similar, so small disappointment here. I have to order color samples next time.

There's a small misunderstanding here. I don't want to buy Shadow. I was considering it in the past but decided to buy BadAss UL instead. They are similarly priced. I just wanted to say that BadAss UL is a good choice for a complete beginner and maybe the post author can consider it too.

Well I managed to make it once with BadAss UL ,just one minute before I broke the lower spreader.

I've been flying dual line kites for the past 6 months - cause most of the time I fly quads - so I can call myself a beginner. And I fly inland too.
During that time I managed to learn the following: push turns, stall, turtle, lazy suzan, axel, spin axel, fade, fade launch (rising fade), flick flack, cartwheel, snap stall, half-axel, half-axel to tip landing and cascade. My only dual line kite for 4-5 months was BadAss UL from LevelOne. It costs ~ 220 €. I can only recommend it. Just one tip: don't practice the dead launch !!! Yesterday I broke the lower spreader while practicing it. I'm pretty sure it was dumb to try it with an ultralight kite

In every big city you can find such plotter printer. There's a big chance you will find one near architecture school. Some of them even take orders online and then send prints via DHL or something similar. That's exactly what I did yesterday.

Another cool thing is they can print on a tracing paper. It's semi-transparent and tape doesn't stick to it so much. Imho way better than a standard white paper

for the past 2-3 months I've been trying to build a dogstake, BUT without using fancy tools like CNC mill or lathe. I've got access to such tools, but I wanted something really simple. Something I could share with the community. Something everyone could build.

Someday I was cleaning my 3d printer and there was that Eureka moment: I could build a dogstake from 3d printer parts. Here's what I've got now:

As you can see, all that's needed is:

• 4x linear bearing rail sk10
• 8x bearing with 10mm inner diameter
• 4x washer (to make a groove between bearings)
• 10mm aluminum rod for shafts
• 1x linear bearing rail sk35
• 1x bearing with 15mm inner diameter
• 15mm stainless steel rod

And just three tools:

• pipe cutter (or hacksaw)
• flat file
• hex keys

The total cost is less than 100$

The last thing I need is the plate
