Yes, so if it's a long brass rod it might not work correctly. Maybe try a shorter brass rod and some other weight. It works best when all the weight is at the tip of the tail.

That's a nice sail for sure. Fun kite!

25 grams is the recommended tailweight in the plan. I like yoyo's to be slower and controllable but if one likes rolling up faster they might experiment with a bit more.

Maybe try adding 1 or 2 grams, it makes a big difference. Also try to have the weight to end of the tail as much as possible. If you use a long brass rod inside the spine it also changes the balance because of the weight distribution.

Finally some good winter weather and nice wind. Episode 24 of Open Source Trickkites features the Matrix Ultralight. Original design by Alberto Cavati and Mario Di Biase from Italy. I created a different layout for my Matrix and used a laser cutting machine to make the sail. Very convenient. The Matrix is a very capable kite and a lot of fun to fly. Build one!
