Episode 30 (!) of Open Source Trickkites features the 90Nine Super Ultralight flown at the enormous Maasvlakte 2 beach in barely noticeable wind. This particular sail was built by Krijn Hemminga with powder pink Icarex as an accent color (which sadly isn't produced anymore). Frame: ULE P90, LLE and spine P100, LS 3PT, US 5mm pultruded carbon. A slow, graceful and floaty kite. Go build one!

Very nice, Birger and Philipp! It was a great day yesterday.
Having a local field to meet (new) pilots is a great thing to have. And learning in bad wind gives you god-mode in beach wind! ![]()
Testing the Barracuda STD by WildKite (Simo Sivonen, Finland) in very smooth sea wind at the Meijendel beach. Thanks to Fred Blok for providing the kite. You can read the review on KiteClique.com (link below). Enjoy!

Gabor (MugenKites) kindly sent me his Dot Matrix sportkite to try. It's a fun little modern classic and very capable in the tricks department. Designed by Andy Preston and built by Carl Robertshaw, in association with Flexifoil. The P100 frame feels balanced and pitchy. This video is an impression of a very nice morning flight at the Maasvlakte 2 beach in light wind conditions. Enjoy!
Rode my bicycle to the enormous Zandmotor beach for a quick evening session with the Lazarus Ultralight built by Mugen Kites (Gabor Nagy) in a very light sea breeze. Gabor kindly published the plans for this kite (check the link below). Go build this very nice and fun kite!

The Sixth Sense is a larger and slower kite. It's a bit easier to "read" compared to the P3.
The Shove-it is a fun trick. Kites like the Benson Deep Space UL are very suitable to perform the Shove-it due to it's "shallow" backflip. Timing is key. Hit the half lazy rotation just before the kite falls into the backflip and catch the fade by picking up the slack.
Very floaty and slow..The Taz and Multilazys are amazing
Cool! Glad you like it.
You can add a set of 3pt lower spreaders. Then it becomes a bit more radical. I always fly it with the 2pt LS though... i love it with that frame.
Nice one! The 90Three SUL in one of my favourites
Very Nice Bob! I will add it to the builds page!
I'll try to add some plans of the other version in the future.
The 90Nothing can fly indoor, but it's not very floaty. It's better suited for urban flying in parcs, plaza's, parking lots etc.
We decided (due to the current events in the world) to release the plans of the 90Three, 90Nine and 100Sixteen.
You can find them here: LINK!
I would really appreciate it if builders would stick to the color scheme for the different weight versions.
Let's build a bunch of these and i hope we can fly them all together soon!
Stay Safe!
The 4th episode of 'PILOT' features Bram, Carlo, Ronald and Lars who all perform the Taz Machine trick at the Ginkelse Heide. See description and how to vote below:
Taz Machine
The TAZ MACHINE is a single 360° belly-down rotation initiated from a flare (belly down, nose away) that is entered from a horizontal line of flight. If the kite is pointing left on entry, the kite will rotate clockwise (as seen from above); if pointing right, it will rotate counterclockwise, turning back in the direction from entry.
Wind: variable, bumpy, with gusts up to 35 km/h
We want to know your opinion! Write a comment (IckyTV Instagram, Youtube or Facebook) with the following:
1. Your favourite Taz Machine execution (name of pilot)
2. Motivate your opinion (optional)
3. Which trick do you want to see next?
We will announce the 'winner' in the next 'PILOT' video featuring the trick with the most votes from all episodes combined. Stay tuned!
